Some interesting facts:
The Morpho butterfly is one of the largest & most famous butterflies in the world, native to the tropical rainforests of Central & South America. Their wings do not contain any blue pigment. Instead, the brilliant metallic colour comes from microscopic scales that refract and bend light through a process called structural colouration. When flying, their erratic, flashing blue wings appear and disappear rapidly, confusing predators. When they land and fold their wings, they vanish against the brown forest bark. Their unique wing scale structure has inspired engineers to develop anti-counterfeiting technology for currency and medical security features.
