‘Tailed Jay Butterfly’ Sterling Silver Earrings

Graphium agamemnon or commonly known as The Tailed Jay Butterfly wing fragments embedded in Sterling Silver frames, on Sterling Silver studs.

A few interesting facts:

Tailed Jay Butterflies are notorious fast fliers, their wings are in a constant vibration state (like hummingbirds) even when landed & feeding. The vivid green spots on their wings are not caused by pigment, the scales are structured like tiny mirrors, reflecting green wavelengths while absorbing others. They start out as very feisty caterpillars, when threatened they rear up on their prolegs & push out a pair of bright yellow, foul smelling horns to chase away predators.
